Naleczowianka mineral water takes its name from the spa town of its origin, Naleczow, situated about 150km southeast of Warsaw. Here many of Poland's outstanding authors lived and worked, including Nobel Prize laureate Henryk Sienkiewicz, author of Quo Vadis. The spring has been famous since the early 19th century (the label says since 1817) as a resort for Polish and other European high society who visited to sample the water. Today Naleczow Spa is unique in Poland as a centre specializing in the rehabilitation of patients following heart transplants. Naleczowianka is rich in both Calcium and Magnesium but low in Sodium, and is also naturally carbonated (though a still version is available).
