Puits Saint Georges
Also known as Parot, Puits Saint Georges takes its name from the well of Saint Georges and is a highly mineralized sparkling water from Saint Romain Le Puy, a small town in the ‘Département de la Loire’ Rhone-Alpes region of France. The water is sourced from a spring first discovered in 1858, and later tapped in 1891. In 1898 the French government pronounced Puits Saint Georges ‘Déclarée D'Intérét Public’, a decree given under French law dating back to 1856 indicating that the water is beneficial to health. Puit Saint Georges is particularly high in bicarbonates, which aid digestion. Puits Saint Georges can be found at a select number of French restaurants.
