Quina Fina Tonic Water

Quina Fina (pronounced ‘kee-na fee-na’) is a New Zealand tonic water produced using authentic Quina bark of the cinchona tree (the natural source of quinine), lower sugar and organic lemons, topped off with Nelson artesian spring water. Quina Fina refers to the highest grade of Loxa (named after the town of Loxa in Ecuador) or Crown Bark available to traders during the Colonial Period. The bark was sold as ‘Quina-Fina de Losa’. Quina has for centuries been used to reduce fever, and quinine in tonic was considered an essential ingredient in the expansion of the British Empire into new territories. One of the features we like about Quina Fina is that they go to the trouble of listing the minerals in the water.
